Vṛtrāsura Rebukes Indra; Heroic Combat and the Asura’s Pure Devotional Prayers
न सन्नवाहाय विषण्णचेतसे प्रायुङ्क्त भूय: स गदां महात्मा । इन्द्रोऽमृतस्यन्दिकराभिमर्श वीतव्यथक्षतवाहोऽवतस्थे ॥ १२ ॥
na sanna-vāhāya viṣaṇṇa-cetase prāyuṅkta bhūyaḥ sa gadāṁ mahātmā indro ’mṛta-syandi-karābhimarśa- vīta-vyatha-kṣata-vāho ’vatasthe
જ્યારે મહાત્મા વૃત્રાસુરે જોયું કે ઇન્દ્રનું વાહન થાકેલું અને ઘાયલ છે તથા ઇન્દ્ર ઉદાસ છે, ત્યારે તેમણે ધર્મનું પાલન કરતા ફરીથી ગદા ન મારી. આ તક લઈને ઇન્દ્રએ પોતાના અમૃતવર્ષી હાથથી હાથીને સ્પર્શ કર્યો, જેનાથી તેની પીડા અને ઘા મટી ગયા. પછી તે બંને ત્યાં ઉભા રહ્યા.
