सप्त च्छन्दांसि चतुरुत्तराण्यन्यो अन्यस्मिन्नध्यार्पितानि । कथं स्तोमाः प्रति तिष्ठन्ति तेषु तानि स्तोमेषु कथमार्पितानि

IAST Transliteration

saptá chándāṃsi caturuttarā́ṇy anyó anyásminn adhyārpitā́ni | katháṃ stomā́ḥ práti tiṣṭhanti téṣu tā́ni stoméṣu kathám ārpitā́ni ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Seven are the metres, with four as their over-addition, each upon the other set and fastened. How stand the chants in answer within them? and those metres—how are they fastened within the chants?

Translation

સાત છંદો છે, અને ચાર તેમનાં ઉપર-ઉમેરા (ઉત્તર) છે; એક બીજામાં અધ્યારોપિત અને દૃઢ રીતે સ્થિર કરાયેલા છે. તે છંદોમાં સ્તોમો (સ્તુતિ-ગાન) પ્રતિઉત્તરરૂપે કેવી રીતે સ્થિત રહે છે? અને તે છંદો સ્તોમોમાં કેવી રીતે જડિત/સ્થાપિત છે?
