આ સંક્ષિપ્ત ઉપચારસૂક્ત યક્ષ્મસદૃશ ક્ષય (રપસ) ને દર્દીના શરીરમાંથી વિધિપૂર્વક “પાછું ફેરવી” બહાર કાઢવાનું લક્ષ્ય રાખે છે. તેમાં એક સ્પષ્ટ ઉપાય—સંયુક્ત યવ (બાર્લી)—ને દિશાસૂચક નિષ્કાસન-સૂત્ર સાથે જોડવામાં આવે છે, જે બ્રહ્માંડની અધોગતિ જેવી ગતિઓના આદર્શ પર ઘડાયેલું છે; અને અંતે જળોને સર્વૌષધ તથા રોગ-વિખેરનાર, રોગનાશક શક્તિ તરીકે આહ્વાન કરીને ઉપચારને સીલ કરવામાં આવે છે.

यक्ष्मनाशनम्। इ॒मं यव॑मष्टायो॒गैः ष॑ड्यो॒गेभि॑रचर्कृषुः । तेना॑ ते त॒न्वो॒३रपो॑ ऽपा॒चीन॒मप॑ व्यये
યક્ષ્મ-નાશન. આ જવને તેમણે આઠ પ્રકારના યોગોથી, છ પ્રકારના યોગોથી સંયોજિત કરીને તૈયાર કર્યું છે; એ જ વડે હું તારા શરીરમાંથી ક્ષય કરનાર રપઃ (વેડફાવનાર હાનિ)ને પછાડીને, પીઠ ફેરવીને, દૂર હંકારી દઉં છું.

न्य॑१ग्वातो॑ वाति॒ न्यऽक् तपति॑ सूर्यः॑ । नी॒चीन॑म॒घ्न्या दु॑हे॒ न्यऽग् भवतु ते॒ रपः॑
નીચે તરફ પવન વહે છે; નીચે તરફ સૂર્ય તપે છે. નીચે તરફ અઘ્ન્યા (અહિંસ્ય, અવિઓલેબલ) ગાયનું દૂધ દોહાય છે; તારા માટે રપઃ (ક્ષયકર હાનિ) પણ નીચે તરફ જ હંકારાઈ જાય.

आप॒ इद् वा उ॑ भेष॒जीरापो॑ अमीव॒चात॑नीः । आपो॑ विश्व॑स्य भेष॒जीस्तास्ते॑ कृण्वन्तु भेष॒जम्
જળો ખરેખર ઔષધિ છે; જળો રોગને દૂર કરનાર છે. જળો સર્વનું ઔષધિ છે; તે જળો તારા માટે ઉપચાર બનાવે.
