Sukta 2
सहस्राक्षमतिपश्यं पुरस्ताद् रुद्रमस्यन्तं बहुधा विपश्चितम्। मोपाराम जिह्वयेयमानम्
sahasrā́kṣam atipaśyáṃ purástād rudrám asyántaṃ bahudhā́ vipáścitam | mā́ upā́ram jihváyeyamā́nam
Thousand-eyed, I saw him looming in the fore—Rudra, hurling (his shafts) in many a fashion, keenly wise. Let me not draw near unto him as he licks (to consume).
હજાર આંખોવાળા તેને મેં આગળ તરફ જોયો—રુદ્ર, અનેક રીતે (શરો) ફેંકતો, અત્યંત વિદ્વાન. તે ચાટતો (ભક્ષવા તત્પર) હોય ત્યારે હું તેની પાસે ન જાઉં.
