યુદ્ધજયાર્ણવની પરંપરામાં ઈશ્વર ‘કોટચક્ર’ શીખવે છે—દુર્ગસ્થાન માટેનું તકનીકી આલેખ, જેમાં બાહ્ય કોટ, અંદરનો ચોરસ અને મધ્યમાં વધુ એક ચોરસ—એ રીતે સ્તરિત ચોરસ-રચના હોય છે. પછી જ્યોતિષને દિશા-રણનીતિ સાથે જોડીને દિશાઓ તથા નાડી-વિભાગોમાં રાશિઓ અને નિશ્ચિત નક્ષત્રોની ગોઠવણી બતાવવામાં આવે છે; બાહ્ય-નાડી અને મધ્ય/અંતર્નાડીનો ભેદ પણ કરાયો છે. આ દિગ્જ્યોતિષ વ્યવહારુ બને છે—કોટના મધ્ય ક્ષેત્રમાં શુભ ગ્રહો અનુકૂળ નક્ષત્રો સાથે હોય તો વિજયનું સૂચન, જ્યારે કેટલાક મધ્ય-યોગો વિઘ્ન અને અશાંતિ દર્શાવે છે. અંતે પ્રવેશ-નિર્ગમન નક્ષત્રો મુજબ નિયમો, શુક્ર-બુધ-મંગળ તથા ‘ચાર-ભેદ’ જેવી ગુપ્તચર-સૂચનાઓથી નિર્ણય લઈ, ભૂમિતિ-કાલગણના-દૈવી ચિહ્નોનું સંકલન ધરાવતી ધર્માધારિત કોટજય પદ્ધતિ રજૂ થાય છે।
