अध्याय १२१ — ज्योतिःशास्त्रम् (Jyotiḥśāstra / Astral Science)
ભગવાન અગ્નિ જ્યોતિષશાસ્ત્રને શુભ-અશુભ ફળના વિવેકપૂર્ણ નિર્ણય માટેનું સંક્ષિપ્ત સારરૂપ વિજ્ઞાન કહીને પ્રારંભ કરે છે. આ અધ્યાય મુહૂર્ત-માર્ગદર્શિકા સમાન છે: લગ્નમાં નક્ષત્ર-સંબંધ (ષટ્કાષ્ટક વગેરે દોષ ટાળવા), કેટલાક ગ્રહ-પરિવર્તન અને અસ્ત અવસ્થાઓમાં (વિશેષ કરીને ગુરુ–શુક્ર) નિષેધ, તેમજ ગુરુના વક્રી અથવા અતિશીઘ્ર ગમનમાં વર્જ્યકાલ જણાવે છે. પછી પુન્સવન, અન્નપ્રાશન, ચૂડાકર્મ/કર્ણવેધ, ઉપનયન સંબંધિત ક્રિયાઓ, ઔષધસેવન, રોગમોચન સ્નાન અને વેપારમાં (કેટલાક નક્ષત્રોમાં ખરીદી/વેચાણ) સમયનિયમો આપે છે. શ્રીં–હ્રીં સંપુટ, સ્તંભન, મૃત્યુનિવારણ જેવા મંત્ર-યંત્રપ્રયોગો પણ મુહૂર્ત સાથે જોડાય છે. આગળ ભાવફળ, નવતારા/તારાબલ, ત્રિપુષ્કર યોગ, કરણોથી સંક્રાંતિ-નિમિત્ત, ગ્રહણ-પુણ્યવિધાન અને અંતે ગ્રહદશાના સમયમાન વર્ણવાય છે. સમગ્ર રીતે કાળજ્ઞાનને ધર્મ, કર્મસિદ્ધિ, સમાજસ્થિરતા, સમૃદ્ધિ અને રક્ષણનું સાધન ગણાવવામાં આવ્યું છે।
