Verse 56

Yogatattva

न दर्शयेच्च सामर्थ्यं दर्शनं वीर्यवत्तरम् । स्वल्पं वा बहुधा दुःखं योगी न व्यथते तदा ॥५६॥

न । दर्शयेत् । च । सामर्थ्यम् । दर्शनम् । वीर्य-वत्-तरम् । स्वल्पम् । वा । बहुधा । दुःखम् । योगी । न । व्यथते । तदा ॥५६॥

na darśayec ca sāmarthyaṃ darśanaṃ vīryavattaram | svalpaṃ vā bahudhā duḥkhaṃ yogī na vyathate tadā ||56||

Et il ne doit pas étaler sa puissance; le simple fait de la montrer est plus périlleux et plus chargé de force. Que la souffrance soit faible ou grande, le yogin alors n’est pas troublé.

And he should not display (his) power; the mere showing (of it) is more fraught with danger/force. Whether little or much suffering (arises), the yogin is not then disturbed.
