या तदभिमानं कारयति सा अविद्या। सोऽभिमानो यया निवर्तते सा विद्या॥३॥

Padapatha (Word Split)

या तत्-अभिमानम् कारयति । सा अविद्या । सः अभिमानः यया निवर्तते । सा विद्या ॥३॥

IAST Transliteration

yā tadabhimānaṃ kārayati sā avidyā | so'bhimāno yayā nivartate sā vidyā ||3||

Translation

Ce qui fait naître cette identification est l’ignorance (avidyā). Ce par quoi cette identification cesse est la connaissance (vidyā).

Academic Translation

That which causes that identification is ignorance. That by which that identification ceases is knowledge.
