अगस्त्य उवाच । अयोध्यानिलयं विष्णुं नत्वा शीतांशुरुत्सुकः । आगच्छत्तीर्थमाहात्म्यं साक्षात्कर्तुं सुधानिधिः । अत्रागत्य च चन्द्रोऽथ तीर्थयात्रां चकार सः
agastya uvāca | ayodhyānilayaṃ viṣṇuṃ natvā śītāṃśurutsukaḥ | āgacchattīrthamāhātmyaṃ sākṣātkartuṃ sudhānidhiḥ | atrāgatya ca candro'tha tīrthayātrāṃ cakāra saḥ
Agastya dit : Désireuse de contempler la grandeur des lieux saints, la Lune—trésor d’ambroisie—vint après s’être inclinée devant Viṣṇu qui demeure à Ayodhyā. Arrivé ici, Candra entreprit alors le pèlerinage des tīrtha.
