ऋतवागुवाच । सुव्रतेन पुरा वेदा अधीता विधिना मया । समाप्य विद्या विधवत्कृतो दारपरिग्रहः

ṛtavāguvāca | suvratena purā vedā adhītā vidhinā mayā | samāpya vidyā vidhavatkṛto dāraparigrahaḥ

Ṛtavāk dit : Jadis, muni de vœux fermes, j’étudiai les Veda selon la règle. Ayant achevé mon savoir comme il se doit, j’entrai dûment dans la vie de maître de maison en prenant épouse.
