Transliteration

māsaiścaivāyanaṃ ṣaḍbhirvarṣaṃ syādayanadvaye | catvāriṃśacca lakṣāṇi lakṣāṇāṃ tritayaṃ punaḥ

Translation

Avec six mois se forme un ayana (demi-année) ; avec deux ayana advient une année. Puis sont évoqués quarante lakṣa, et encore trois «lakṣa de lakṣa».
