devyuvāca | yadi devāḥ prasannā me yadi deyo varo mama | āśramo'traiva me puṇyo jāyatāṃ khyātisaṃyutaḥ
Tirtha: Devī-āśrama at Arbuda
Type: kshetra
Scene: The Goddess speaks calmly, requesting that a renowned holy hermitage arise at that very spot; the devas listen attentively; the landscape subtly transforms into an ordered sacred precinct—groves, huts, fire-altars.
Sacred geography is born from divine intention: a place becomes holy when the Divine chooses to abide and bless it.
Arbuda/Varaparvata, where the Goddess requests the establishment of a famed, meritorious āśrama.
No explicit ritual is prescribed; the verse explains the founding of a sanctified abode (āśrama) as a boon.
