ययातिरुवाच । किमर्थं भगवन्वह्निः पुरा नष्टो द्विजोत्तम । कथं तत्रैव लब्धस्तु कौतुकं मे महामुने
yayātiruvāca | kimarthaṃ bhagavanvahniḥ purā naṣṭo dvijottama | kathaṃ tatraiva labdhastu kautukaṃ me mahāmune
Yayāti dit : Pour quelle raison, ô vénérable, le Feu (Vahni) fut-il jadis perdu, ô meilleur des deux-fois-nés ? Et comment fut-il retrouvé en ce même lieu ? Grand sage, cette curiosité s’est éveillée en moi.
