Śiva (Sadāśiva) speaking to Rāvaṇa (Paulastya)
Tirtha: Kedāra
Type: kshetra
Listener: ṛṣis
Scene: Śiva speaks from/near the liṅga, declaring the kṣetra’s inviolability and inviting Paulastya (Rāvaṇa) to choose boons; the atmosphere is charged, protective, and numinous.
Śiva’s grace responds to intense devotion, and the Lord is praised as the protector who subdues asuric forces.
The verse points to “that place” within Kedāra-kṣetra where Śiva’s presence is described as overpowering evil.
No new rite is prescribed; the focus is on boon-bestowal (vara-pradāna) following completed tapas and worship.
