देवा ऊचुः । मदनद्वं समर्थोसि अस्माञ्जेतुं सदैव हि । महेशं प्रति गच्छाशु सुरकार्यार्थसिद्धये । पार्वत्या सहितं शंभुं कुरुष्वाद्य महामते
devā ūcuḥ | madanadvaṃ samarthosi asmāñjetuṃ sadaiva hi | maheśaṃ prati gacchāśu surakāryārthasiddhaye | pārvatyā sahitaṃ śaṃbhuṃ kuruṣvādya mahāmate
Les dieux dirent : «Ô Madana, tu es toujours capable de nous vaincre, même nous. Va vite vers Maheśa afin d’accomplir l’œuvre des dieux. Ô esprit magnanime, fais qu’aujourd’hui Śambhu—avec Pārvatī—tombe sous ton influence.»
