Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta) to the sages (deduced from Māheśvarakhaṇḍa narrative style)
Tirtha: Koṭīśvara-tīrtha (implied)
Type: ghat
Scene: A solemn ghāṭa scene: a householder performs śrāddha with kusa grass, sesame, water libations; piṇḍas offered near the lake; subtle ancestral figures receive offerings, signifying ‘akṣayā tṛpti’.
Performed with proper procedure, ancestral rites at a sacred place yield enduring (akṣaya) merit and lasting satisfaction to the Pitṛs.
The verse points to the local tīrtha of this adhyāya—Koṭitīrtha—where śrāddha is said to become especially fruitful.
Śrāddha along with piṇḍadāna, to be done yathāvidhi (according to the prescribed rules).
