यथेह बन्धने कश्चिद्रक्ष्यते विषमैर्नरैः । प्रेतपिंडा न दीयंते षोडशश्राद्धपूर्वकाः
yatheha bandhane kaścidrakṣyate viṣamairnaraiḥ | pretapiṃḍā na dīyaṃte ṣoḍaśaśrāddhapūrvakāḥ
De même qu’en ce monde un détenu est gardé par des hommes durs, de même les offrandes de piṇḍa au preta ne sont pas données—celles qui doivent être offertes en commençant par les seize śrāddhas.
