Kamaṭha
Listener: Dvija (the questioning guest)
Scene: Kamaṭha begins his reply: he bows first to the Guru, then to Dharma, and promises to answer in metrical, sacred speech within his ability.
Right knowledge is transmitted with humility—honoring the guru and dharma before speaking, and teaching within one’s competence.
No tīrtha is mentioned; the verse sets the dharmic tone for instruction.
Vandana (reverential salutation) to Guru and to Dharma is implied as proper conduct before expounding sacred teaching.
