Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 83

गर्भस्मृतेरभावेन शास्त्रमुक्तं महर्षिभिः । तद्दृःखकथनार्थाय स्वर्गमोक्षप्रसाधकम्

garbhasmṛterabhāvena śāstramuktaṃ maharṣibhiḥ | taddṛḥkhakathanārthāya svargamokṣaprasādhakam

Parce que la mémoire du sein maternel fait défaut, les grands ṛṣi ont proclamé le śāstra : pour dire cette souffrance et établir les moyens qui mènent au ciel et à la délivrance (mokṣa).
