Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 14

तपोजपव्रतस्नानौः साध्यंत्यात्मनः परम् । यज्ञांगसाधनैः कांश्चित्कंदादिफलदानतः

tapojapavratasnānauḥ sādhyaṃtyātmanaḥ param | yajñāṃgasādhanaiḥ kāṃścitkaṃdādiphaladānataḥ

Par l’ascèse, la récitation des mantras, les vœux et le bain sacré, les hommes atteignent le bien suprême du Soi. Et en procurant certains moyens qui sont des membres du sacrifice—en offrant racines, fruits et autres—ils acquièrent aussi du mérite.
