यदि प्रसन्नो देवेश तदा मे सानुगा इमे । सर्वे शूलिन्नुग्राह्या एष एव वरो मम
yadi prasanno deveśa tadā me sānugā ime | sarve śūlinnugrāhyā eṣa eva varo mama
«Si tu es satisfait, ô Seigneur des dieux, que tous ces compagnons qui sont avec moi reçoivent la faveur du Seigneur au Trident ; tel est, et tel seul, mon vœu».
Vasiṣṭha (the ascetic), speaking to the presiding deity (Kedāra/Śiva principle)
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śiva (Deveśa, Śūlin)
Scene: The ascetic, surrounded by a small group of followers, requests not for himself but that all his companions receive the Trident-bearer’s grace; Śiva’s trident emblem and compassionate gaze dominate the scene.
The highest boon is altruistic—seeking grace not only for oneself but for one’s companions and community.
Kedāra-kṣetra within Kāśī, where Śiva’s anugraha is sought for all accompanying devotees.
No ritual is prescribed; the focus is on the intention behind boon-seeking (paropakāra).
