Skanda (phalaśruti; deduced from context)
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Agastya and the audience of the Kāśī-khaṇḍa (contextual)
Scene: A devotee sits near the Gaṅgā, eyes closed in absorption, listening to a reciter chanting the chapter; above, a subtle vision of Śiva-loka—radiant Kailāsa-like realm—appears as the fruit of śravaṇa.
Reverent listening (śravaṇa) with focused mind is itself a powerful sādhana that purifies sin and directs one toward Śiva.
Indirectly Kāśī, since the chapter belongs to Kāśīkhaṇḍa and its Mahātmya tradition.
Śravaṇa (hearing/recitation-listening) of the chapter with mental absorption is prescribed as the practice.
