पूजयित्वा पशुपतिमुपोषणपरायणाः । पशुपाशैर्न बध्यंते दर्शे विहितपारणाः
pūjayitvā paśupatimupoṣaṇaparāyaṇāḥ | paśupāśairna badhyaṃte darśe vihitapāraṇāḥ
Ceux qui vénèrent Paśupati et se vouent au jeûne ne sont pas liés par les entraves qui enchaînent les êtres. En observant la rupture prescrite du jeûne au jour de darśa (nouvelle lune), ils sont délivrés des liens de Paśupati.

Scene: A devotee in Kāśī performs Paśupati-pūjā with bilva leaves and water, having fasted; at amāvāsyā night’s end he performs prescribed pāraṇa, while subtle bonds (pāśa) fall away.
Devotion to Śiva as Paśupati, joined with disciplined vows, loosens the bonds of worldly bondage.
Kāśī is the implied sacred arena of practice; the verse highlights Paśupati worship rather than a named tīrtha.
