आत्मनानुष्ठितेनापि व्रतेन न हि दुष्कृतिः । परावसोस्तव भ्रातुरतो नैवास्ति निष्कृतिः

ātmanānuṣṭhitenāpi vratena na hi duṣkṛtiḥ | parāvasostava bhrāturato naivāsti niṣkṛtiḥ

«Même si l’on accomplit soi-même un vœu, ce forfait n’en est pas effacé ; ainsi, pour ton frère Parāvasu, il n’existe point d’expiation par les moyens ordinaires.»
