Skanda Purana — Brahma Khanda, Shloka 68

तथा शांतनवो भीष्मस्त्यक्तचापो निरायुधः । शिखंडिनं पुरोधाय निहतः सव्यसाचिना

tathā śāṃtanavo bhīṣmastyaktacāpo nirāyudhaḥ | śikhaṃḍinaṃ purodhāya nihataḥ savyasācinā

De même Bhīṣma, fils de Śāṃtanu—son arc rejeté, sans armes—fut tué par Savyasācin (Arjuna), après avoir placé Śikhaṇḍin devant lui.
