It teaches that worship is not only offering substances but offering oneself: circumambulation expresses placing Śiva at the center of one’s life, and eight-limbed prostration expresses total surrender (śaraṇāgati) to Pati, the Lord who grants grace and liberation.
Pradakṣiṇā and sāṣṭāṅga-pranāma are core acts in saguna worship of the Śiva-liṅga, honoring Śiva’s accessible form while cultivating inner devotion that matures toward realization of His transcendent nature.
Perform pradakṣiṇā around the liṅga with the indicated mantric recitation, then do sāṣṭāṅga-namaskāra—letting the mind become humble and one-pointed, as in Shaiva devotional discipline.
