Inquiry into Paśu, Pāśa, and Pati
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It teaches that transmigration continues until karma is exhausted, and that Śiva as Pati is the ultimate ground enabling yoga and the resolution of the knower-known (bhoktṛ-bhogya) split that binds the soul.
By affirming Śiva as the primordial source behind both experience and the experiencer, it supports Linga-worship as a focused Saguna support that leads the mind toward the truth of Śiva as the inner cause of yoga and liberation.
A practical takeaway is sustained yoga grounded in Śiva—daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with meditation on the Linga—aimed at burning karmic residues and stabilizing the witness beyond bhoktṛ-bhogya.
