Acquisition of Paśupati–Pāśa Knowledge
विपदां वीजभूतेन पुरुषस्तेन संयुतः । सुखी दुःखी च मूढश्च भवति स्वेन कर्मणा
vipadāṃ vījabhūtena puruṣastena saṃyutaḥ | sukhī duḥkhī ca mūḍhaśca bhavati svena karmaṇā

It teaches that the soul’s alternating experiences—pleasure, pain, and delusion—arise from its own karmic seeds (pāśa). In Shaiva Siddhanta, recognizing karma as bondage is the first step toward seeking Pati (Shiva) for release.
Linga-worship centers the mind on Shiva as the Lord beyond karma, while the devotee acknowledges personal responsibility for karmic results. By approaching Saguna Shiva with devotion and purity, one weakens the karmic ‘seed’ that ripens as misfortune.
Daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with disciplined conduct is the practical takeaway; it purifies karma and steadies the mind so it does not fall into mūḍhatā (delusion).
