FAQs

It highlights śravaṇa (reverent listening) in a sacred assembly: when divine beings and sages hear and share Shiva-tattva narratives, the mind becomes purified and receptive to liberating knowledge.

The verse sets the devotional and scriptural setting—sages in sattra and a pleased Vāyu—where teachings on Shiva (often approached as Saguna through Linga-worship and as Pati beyond qualities) are traditionally transmitted through attentive hearing.

Satsanga and śāstra-śravaṇa: regularly listening to Shiva Purana recitation in a disciplined, yajna-like setting, cultivating a pleased and steady mind fit for japa (e.g., Panchakshara) and contemplation.
