Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a specific jyotirliṅga episode; the verse states a general siddhānta of worship: offerings at Śiva’s feet, especially to Sāmba (Śiva-with-Umā), become the cause of all prosperity.
Significance: Encourages pilgrimage/worship with bhakti rather than opulence; promises sarva-sampad (all attainments) through sincere offering.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
The verse teaches that bhakti (devotional surrender) offered at Śiva’s feet is not merely a ritual act—it becomes the inner cause for both worldly well-being and higher attainments, because grace flows where devotion is sincerely placed.
By praising offerings made to Sāmba (Śiva with Umā) along with His gaṇas, it affirms saguna upāsanā—approaching the Lord through worshipful form (including the Śiva-liṅga) where devotion sanctifies the offering and yields auspicious results.
Practice samarpana-bhāva: offer water, bilva leaves, or naivedya to Śiva (especially the liṅga) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating the attitude that the offering is placed at His lotus-feet with devotion.
