«Ô Seigneur, par Ton ordre je conclus à présent ce vœu.» Ayant ainsi parlé, il doit jeter l’herbe darbha placée au pied du Liṅga, en la rejetant vers le côté nord.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Models proper saṅkalpa/utsarga (formal conclusion) of a Śaiva vrata before the liṅga; correct closure is held to preserve the vow’s fruit and avoid ritual fault (doṣa).
Mantra: samutsṛjāmi bhagavan vratam etat tvad-ājñayā
Role: liberating
It teaches that a vrata is not ended by personal whim but by surrendering its completion to Shiva’s sanction—devotion (bhakti) expressed through orderly discipline and humble closure of the rite.
The Liṅga is treated as the living focus of Saguna worship; even small ritual acts—like removing darbha from the Liṅga’s base—are performed with reverence, marking the rite’s completion before the Lord.
It indicates the formal completion (saṅkalpa-release) of a Linga-vrata: verbally offering the conclusion to Shiva and then disposing ritual darbha northward, maintaining purity and ritual order.
