The Supreme Lord as the Uncaused Cause

Tattva Level: pasha
Role: liberating
It presents a Shaiva Siddhanta sequence: inner equanimity (sāmya) makes one receptive to Shiva’s grace (prasāda), which strengthens dharma and culminates in the purification of the bound soul (paśu) through the exhaustion of sin.
Linga-worship and devotion to Saguna Shiva are practical means to cultivate steadiness and purity; that steadiness supports receptivity to Shiva’s prasāda, through which dharma deepens and impurities are removed.
Practice mental equipoise through japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady daily Shiva-puja; these disciplines support sāmya and invite prasāda, leading to pāpa-kṣaya.
