The Vision of Dakṣa’s Great Sacrifice
and the Onset of Vīrabhadra’s Terror

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Cosmic Event: cosmic upheaval/portent-like roar filling ākāśa
The verse highlights the irresistible, world-filling power of Shiva’s divine retinue: when the Gaṇeśvaras move in devotion and command, their sound becomes cosmic, indicating that all realms respond to Pati (Shiva) and His śakti-filled presence.
The Gaṇeśvaras are attendants of Saguna Shiva—Shiva approached with form, qualities, and divine entourage. Their thunderous acclaim reflects the celebratory, protective atmosphere that surrounds Linga worship and the manifest Lord’s līlā within the worlds.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate śravaṇa and japa: listen inwardly to sacred sound and repeat the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with steady attention, visualizing Shiva’s gaṇas as guardians removing obstacles and strengthening devotion.
