Manifestation of Ardhanārīśvara and the Impulse for Procreative Creation
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Ardhanārīśvara
Significance: Phalaśruti principle: devotional recitation pleases Śiva-Śakti and yields the same merit regardless of lineage, emphasizing accessibility of grace.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It teaches that the efficacy of sacred recitation rests primarily on bhakti: when remembrance and proclamation are done with devotion, Shiva and Shakti are pleased and the promised spiritual merit (phala) manifests by their grace.
It supports Saguna upasana through kirtana and praise: even without elaborate qualifications, devoted recitation directed to Shiva (as worshipped in Linga and other forms) becomes a valid offering that draws divine pleasure and bestows the stated result.
Regular devotional recitation (kirtana/japa-like repetition) of the taught passage—especially in a disciplined, reverent manner such as daily worship or Mahashivratri observance—emphasizing heartfelt devotion over mere technical learning.
