Kṛṣṇādi-Śivabhaktoddhāraṇa & Śiva-māhātmya-varṇana
Deliverance of Krishna and other devotees; Description of Shiva’s Greatness
Upamanyu
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse emphasizes Shaiva Siddhanta’s central principle that Śiva’s anugraha (grace) is decisive—spiritual attainment culminates in Śiva-darśana not merely by effort, but by the Lord’s compassionate bestowal.
It supports saguna-upāsanā: through devoted worship (often centered on the Śiva-liṅga), the seeker becomes fit for the Lord’s self-revelation, which is ultimately granted by Mahādeva’s grace.
The takeaway is steadfast bhakti with regular Śiva-pūjā and japa—especially the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—performed with humility, seeking darśana as a gift of grace.
