ऋषभचरित्रवर्णनम् (Ṛṣabha-caritra-varṇanam) — “Account of Ṛṣabha’s Sacred Narrative”
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Cosmic Event: yuga-cycle: third Dvāpara; Śiva’s strategic manifestation in liminal space (city outskirts) suggesting concealment/revelation dynamics
It teaches that Pati (Lord Shiva) is not distant: out of grace, He repeatedly assumes accessible forms across the yugas to uphold dharma and guide bound souls (paśu) toward liberation.
By declaring a future manifestation with a specific name and locale, the text emphasizes Saguna Shiva—Shiva who becomes approachable through form, place, and story—supporting devotional worship that culminates in realizing His supreme, transcendent reality.
Contemplate Shiva’s anugraha (grace) in every age and sustain daily japa of the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” supported by simple Shaiva observances like vibhuti (tripuṇḍra) and Rudraksha if one follows them.
