उपमन्युकुमारस्य क्षीरार्थ-प्रार्थना तथा शिवप्रसाद-निबन्धनम् | Upamanyu’s Longing for Milk and the Doctrine of Shiva’s Grace
पूर्वजन्मनि यत्कृत्यं शिवमु द्दिश्य हे सुत । तदेव लभ्यते नूनन्नात्र कार्या विचारणा । इति मातृवचश्श्रुन्वा व्याघ्रपादिस्स बालकः
pūrvajanmani yatkṛtyaṃ śivamu ddiśya he suta | tadeva labhyate nūnannātra kāryā vicāraṇā | iti mātṛvacaśśrunvā vyāghrapādissa bālakaḥ
«Mon fils, tout acte accompli dans une naissance antérieure en prenant le Seigneur Śiva pour but, c’est assurément ce fruit même qui se reçoit à présent ; nul besoin de douter ni de davantage délibérer.» Entendant ces paroles maternelles, l’enfant Vyāghrapāda les grava en son cœur.
