(Deva-stuti-varṇana) — “Description of the Gods’ Hymn/Praise”
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: panchakshara
Role: teaching
It teaches that even Hari (Viṣṇu) attains success by becoming śiva-mānasa—fixing the mind on Pati (Śiva)—and by disciplined japa done with vidhi; divine work is fulfilled through devotion aligned with right practice.
The verse highlights Saguna-Śiva devotion in practice: japa performed with proper rites implies worship directed to Śiva as accessible Lord (often through liṅga-upāsanā), where focused mind and procedure together bring siddhi for dharmic aims.
Perform mantra-japa with due vidhi—taking sankalpa, maintaining purity and steadiness, and meditating with a Śiva-centered mind (śiva-mānasaḥ); this can be paired with Shaiva supports like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa where appropriate.
