After Aniruddha’s Abduction: Kṛṣṇa Marches to Śoṇitapura and the Rudra–Kṛṣṇa Battle Begins
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Role: teaching
The verse highlights Shiva’s absolute lordship (Pati): even being “stunned” happens only by His will. In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, worldly power and bondage are subordinate to Shiva’s grace and governance, revealing the battle as divine līlā rather than a limitation of the Supreme.
It supports Saguna Shiva devotion: the Lord assumes a relatable form and participates in events, yet remains sovereign. The devotee worships the Linga knowing that Shiva’s manifest actions are compassionate play, while His essential nature remains untouched and supreme.
A practical takeaway is surrender (śaraṇāgati) with japa of the Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—contemplating that all powers, obstacles, and outcomes move under Shiva’s command, and seeking His grace for right action and inner steadiness.
