Bāṇāsura Receives Gaṇapatya; Genealogical Prelude
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)

It highlights Śiva as bhakta-vatsala—His grace is awakened by sincere devotion; when the devotee offers heartfelt worship (here, dance), the Lord responds with compassionate dṛṣṭi (saving, uplifting grace).
The verse reflects Saguna Śiva’s accessible mercy: embodied acts of worship—song, dance, pūjā to the Liṅga—become direct means for the devotee to receive Śiva’s anugraha (grace).
Offer devotional upacāras such as kīrtana/nṛtya with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), seeking Śiva’s compassionate glance; the emphasis is on bhāva (inner devotion) rather than mere display.
