Tripura Dīkṣā: Prescriptive Procedure
Chapter on the Ordinance of Initiation
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It declares Shiva’s anugraha (grace): by obedience to the divine command and alignment with the Guru’s path, devotees are uplifted toward sadgati—right destiny culminating in liberation—without uncertainty.
In Shaiva Siddhanta, Saguna Shiva compassionately guides bound souls through the Guru and discipline; worship of Shiva (including Linga-upasana) becomes fruitful when it matures into Guru-alignment and surrender to Shiva’s will.
Guru-bhakti and disciplined obedience: daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with reverence to the Guru, supported by simple Shaiva observances like vibhuti (Tripundra) and steady devotion.
