Tripura Dīkṣā: Prescriptive Procedure
Chapter on the Ordinance of Initiation
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the Purāṇic teaching to the sages, with the verse conveying the authority of Śruti–Smṛti and liberating vidyā in a Śaiva frame)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It affirms that true dharma is validated by both Śruti and Smṛti, and that Śaiva vidyā (right knowledge directed to Pati, Shiva) destroys inner obscurations and bondage, leading toward liberation.
By grounding practice in Śruti–Smṛti dharma, the devotee’s Saguna worship (such as Linga-pūjā) becomes a vehicle for purifying the mind; that purified awareness then supports realization of Shiva as the supreme Pati beyond bondage.
Adopt dharmic discipline and a knowledge-guided Shiva sādhanā—especially japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with Linga worship—aimed at breaking ignorance and attachments (pāśa).
