शिवस्य आश्वासनं हरि-ब्रह्मणोः तथा शङ्खचूडवृत्तान्तकथनम् / Śiva’s Reassurance to Hari and Brahmā; Account of Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Origin
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It teaches that true realization of Śiva-tattva dispels moha (delusion), and that the natural response to such clarity is humble surrender (namaskāra) and devotional praise (stuti)—a Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on Śiva as Pati who grants right knowledge and liberation.
The verse highlights embodied devotion—bowing and offering añjali—typical of Saguna worship such as Linga-pūjā. Through such reverent practice, the devotee’s understanding matures toward Śiva’s tattva (his supreme reality), where form-based worship becomes a doorway to deeper realization.
A practical takeaway is to perform namaskāra with añjali and recite Śiva-stuti or the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with focused intent, using devotion to overcome mental delusion and stabilize right understanding.
