Tous s’élancèrent, parfaitement prêts et accompagnés de nombreuses divisions de troupes. Munis de diverses armes et traits, ils avancèrent sans crainte, tout doute étant dissipé.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Rudra
The verse highlights nirbhayatva (fearlessness) and gata-saṃśaya (freedom from doubt), qualities that in Shaiva Siddhanta arise when the devotee’s will aligns with dharma and with trust in Pati (Lord Shiva) as the ultimate protector and guide.
In the battle context, fearlessness mirrors the inner steadiness gained by Saguna Shiva worship—approaching the Linga with devotion strengthens resolve, removes wavering, and steadies the mind to act rightly without anxiety.
A practical takeaway is to remove doubt through japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and mental steadiness; pairing it with Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa (where customary) supports disciplined, fearless focus.
