शिवतेजसः समुद्रे बालरूपप्रादुर्भावः (Śiva’s Tejas Manifesting as a Child in the Ocean)
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse shows Shiva as the sovereign giver of identity and destiny: a being’s fame and name arise by divine ordinance, and even extraordinary power (like restraining water) remains under Shiva’s higher will—warning against pride and reinforcing Pati (Shiva) as the ultimate controller.
Naming is an act of Saguna Shiva—Shiva acting personally within history to guide cosmic order. Devotees worship the Linga as that same Lord who both transcends (Nirguna) and governs (Saguna) the manifested world, including the rise of powerful beings like Jalandhara.
A practical takeaway is humble japa of the Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to remember Shiva as the true source of power and to restrain ego, especially before undertaking vows, austerities, or worship.
