Shiva Purana — Rudra Samhita, Shloka 22

शिवतेजसः समुद्रे बालरूपप्रादुर्भावः (Śiva’s Tejas Manifesting as a Child in the Ocean)

FAQs

It highlights that even exalted beings like Brahmā can be constrained in conflict, and relief comes through timely, grace-assisted action—pointing to Shaiva Siddhanta’s emphasis on humility and dependence on higher order (ultimately Śiva’s governance) rather than mere power.

In the Yuddhakhaṇḍa setting, turmoil and restraint symbolize the limits of ego and authority; Saguna Śiva worship (including Liṅga-upāsanā) trains the devotee to seek refuge in Śiva’s stabilizing presence so that speech and discernment become ‘freed’ and reverent, like Brahmā speaking sādaram.

A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to regain inner ‘breath and voice’ during distress, along with calm prāṇāyāma; if observing Mahāśivarātri, support it with vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and focused mantra-recitation.
