Description of the Origin/Manifestation of Viṣṇu

Tattva Level: pasha
Shakti Form: Durgā
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: tattva-evolution: emergence of buddhi-tattva from guṇa-endowed prakṛti/māyā
It identifies the material-causal principle of manifestation—Pradhāna/Prakṛti/Māyā—as the guṇa-based power that gives rise to Buddhi, implying that liberation requires discerning Shiva (Pati) as distinct from the evolutes of Māyā and turning awareness beyond guṇas.
Linga-worship centers the mind on Shiva as the transcendent Lord who stands beyond Prakṛti and her transformations; by meditating on Saguna Shiva through the Linga, the devotee gains clarity to recognize Māyā and its tattvas (like Buddhi) as dependent powers, not the Supreme.
A practical takeaway is guṇa-transcending japa and dhyāna—especially Panchākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya")—performed with purity (bhasma/tripuṇḍra and steady breath), cultivating viveka (discernment) so the intellect (buddhi) turns from Māyā toward Shiva.
