Sthala Purana: Colophon (iti) marking the close of the chapter ‘Nārada-tapo-varṇana’; not a narrative verse tied to a specific shrine.
This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter; it frames Nārada’s tapas as a key Shaiva theme—disciplined austerity and devotion becoming a means to receive Śiva’s grace and progress toward liberation.
Though the line itself is a chapter-ending marker, it points to the narrative context where tapas and bhakti are directed toward Śiva as the accessible Lord (Saguna Śiva), whose grace is often approached through worship and contemplation associated with the Liṅga tradition.
The heading emphasizes tapas—steady spiritual discipline—commonly expressed in Shaiva practice through japa (especially Śiva-mantra), meditation on Śiva, and regulated vrata-like observances, undertaken to purify bonds (pāśa) and draw near to Pati (Śiva).
