Description of the Sequence of Creation

The verse highlights vidhivat—right order and sanctified duty—as the foundation of creation. In a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, worldly institutions like marriage function within Shiva’s cosmic governance, supporting dharma that ultimately steadies the mind for liberation.
Though it is genealogical, it reinforces that social and cosmic order are upheld under Saguna Shiva’s lordship as Pati (the ruler). Living ‘vidhivat’ becomes an offering of conduct, aligning household life with devotion and readiness for Shiva-worship.
The direct cue is vidhivat—perform rites correctly. As a Shaiva takeaway: keep daily purity and worship discipline (e.g., japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and respectful observance of samskāras) so actions become dharma-aligned and inwardly purifying.
