Suta Goswami (traditional Purana framing narration)
Sthala Purana: Colophon (iti…): textual closure identifying the chapter title and placement within the Śiva Purāṇa’s Rudrasaṃhitā, Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa.
Significance: Not a pilgrimage instruction; it frames the authority and transmission context of the śivapūjā-varṇana chapter.
This is a concluding colophon that seals the chapter’s teaching: Shiva-pūjā is upheld as a complete spiritual path, where devotion (bhakti) and correct observance lead the soul toward Shiva’s grace and liberation.
By naming the chapter “Śivapūjana-varṇana,” it points to formal, accessible worship of Saguna Shiva—commonly expressed through Linga-pūjā—while implying that such worship is a doorway to realizing Shiva as the supreme reality.
The verse itself is a chapter-end marker, but its title indicates practices central to Shiva worship—such as mantra-japa (notably the Panchakshara), and disciplined pūjā with devotion—performed to gain Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
